As stories of data loss or theft within the public sector are becoming frequent features in the news, protecting citizen and customer data is critical.

Civica has designed an online, remote backup service to meet security requirements.  Civica DataStore is the latest product to be added to the Civica Connect portfolio and is just one of its business continuity solutions.

A cloud based service, Civica Datastore is designed to protect data and make it available in the event of a disaster.  The service is fully automated, eliminates the need for upfront investment and requires minimum human intervention; reducing operational costs.

Some 262 out of 818 public sector data security breaches reported to the Information Commissioner in the past two years were the result of theft, often where the personal information was held on an unencrypted portable device.  This solution eliminates the possibility of this happening, avoiding detrimental breaches of security and very costly financial penalties.

The encrypted data is backed up over the internet or a dedicated IP link to Civica's secure and resilient data centres.  When data recovery is required, users can swiftly and simply restore the data via an intuitive interface.
