Civica’s ANPR framework agreement with the force, which runs until 2015 has more recently involved the deployment of Civica Web Alerts to provide authorised users who intercept vehicles or deploy resources to intercept.

The new alert client can be set up for specific roles (despatch room or mobile officers) and locations. Users have the ability to select individual or groups of cameras which can be saved to user accounts for future use as well as the ability to access individual databases. West Yorkshire Police also make use of the Blackberry functionality so officers can access force systems and information whilst on patrol. This is especially beneficial for specialist teams and patrol officers working in high risk areas.
